About the event
Certified educator, ecologist and flower enthusiast Julia of Puale'a Floral will be sharing her annual Hawaii-style flower crown making event with the community on this special day. Whether you love flowers, love plants, love crafts or all three this is a family friendly activity for everyone. In Hawaii, everyone can enjoy wearin plants regardless of gender, and foliage, (leafy materials) buds, seed pods and other botanical parts are also used in crowns!
Kids and teens will be supported in learning the steps so they can feel successful in and enjoy wearing their finished product. Printed instructions, demonstrations and a flower bar to pick flowers and foliage will all be on display. Floral crowns will last for 2-3 days if stored in a plastic bag in the fridge when not wearing. Last year we had a blast seeing people wearing crowns enjoying other events at Madison Earth Care’s annual event!
